Dutch Oven Biscuits
Type: Dutch Oven   Meal Type: Breads

  • 4 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk

Cooking Instructions:
Combine dry ingredients, Cut in butter with two knives. Add milk and stir until dough is mixed. Knead 3 or 4 times until dough is mixed and holds together.

Roll dough to 3/4" thick and cut with biscuit cutter or shape to 3" rounds. Preheat 12" Dutch oven to 425°F, with 21 coals on lid and 10 under oven. Grease oven and place biscuits close together. Cover and bake for 10 - 15mins.

Biscuits are done when tops are golden brown. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
